During the Spring Semester of 2021, I worked with a committee of faculty and administrators from Soka University of America to create a global conference entitled the World Summit of Educators. The committee was co-chaired by Tomoko Takahashi and myself, and a second group of students arranged their own series of events known as the Youth Summit. Our WSE meeting included three sessions to allow educators in the USA, Europe, Africa, and Asia to participate. Our keynote speaker was Wanjira Mathai, who gave an excellent talk about the connections between the environment, education, and global citizenship.
